Christos Bacharakis

I’m an Open Source Engineer who is trying to change the world.

I love to travel, hack, go on mountain biking, capture the world with my lens, cook and tweet.

I've been involved in Open Source communities since 2005. When I am not mentoring people for being awesome, I represent Mozilla and the Fedora project around the globe.

I am passionate about algorithms, software engineering, problem solving and I am very in tune with people around me. I also describe myself as a public speaker, a systems administrator and a physical computing hacker (maker). I believe that combining my technical and social skills I succeed to fulfill every demanding and challenging project.

Within Mozilla I am mainly active in the Reps program where recently I was elected in the Reps council. I've been (and still am) representing Mozilla in Greece and abroad and my favorite topic for my sessions is Firefox OS and the Open Web Apps ecosystem.

As a Webmaker super mentor, I have been highly active for more than two years running webmaker workshops around Greece and abroad. This was the result of various partnerships we achieved (as Mozilla Greece) with local municipalities and NGOs.

In a more technical field I am part of a QA (quality assurance) pilot program, where I help in the development process of the Firefox OS BuddyUP application.

Last but not least, I have been recently welcomed in the Technical Speakers pilot program which I believe is a perfect fit for me. I am a technical guy with strong social skills who loves to share and interact with intelligence people.

Christos is a very active current member of the Reps Council. His addition to the Council enables the Reps program to be more efficient and think more about our strategy. He has great ideas about leaderships and processes.
