Spike (Chris Foote)

Bio

Chris Foote (always known as “Spike”) has been the Volunteer Coordinator for the Mozilla Festival in London from 2013. A professional Electronic Engineer with a passion for science and technology, he was a volunteer with global organisations such as CrisisCommons, CrisisMappers, OpenStreetMap (OSM), Humanitarian OSM Team (HOT), StandbyTaskForce (SBTF). He started a very successful London-based monthly Meetup group for people involved in or interested in ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) as well as organising countless BarCamps and Hackathons. As a long-time user and supporter of Mozilla he was honoured to be involved in his sixth Mozilla Festival in 2016. Outside of MozFest I am a "module peer" on the Mozilla Wiki and am working on getting Festival Volunteers more involved in other aspects of the Mozilla Project.

Spike is both a name and a title within the Mozilla community. He's done such an incredibly amazing job coordinating the volunteers at the Mozilla Festival all these years, and I'm truly glad I've gotten the opportunity to work for him.

He can always be found for a chat, be it Mozilla related or something completely random. He's a great friend before everything else.
